BCYP Ceases OperationsFebruary, 2009—The Brookside Community Youth Program board of directors has ceased operations of its after-school program. The program has struggled over the past few years to achieve its financial objectives. The board recognizes this as a unique opportunity to bring together a participatory network of suburban and inner-city churches to meet the needs of the Brookside neighborhood using a program designed to improve the lives, education and opportunities of the area youth. The board will be conducting a needs assessment of the near-eastside and look to form a coalition of community partners to set new programming goals. |
